After breeding on the West Pier last year it was fortunate that the peregrines returned to the Sussex Heights nesting box this year where they have had three chicks, all thought to be males. Up until this year they had only produced female chicks. The chicks appear to be between 3-4 weeks old with their wing feathers just beginning to sprout.
The chicks have now been ringed by the Sussex Ornithological Society which hopefully will allow their movement over coming years to be recorded.

Our coverage for this year has started. Currently the peregrines are often to be seen perched on Sussex Heights by the nest box. If their progress in previous years is anything to go by, now would be the time that they lay their eggs. Hopefully, we will be able to find a way of keeping up with developments. More information on the progress of the birds will be made available as it happens.
