WORKERS have moved in to clear the way for the Brighton Eye.
Remnants of the West Pier in Brighton have been cleaned before they are moved to a new resting place.
Old railings, dismantled kiosks, original lamps and tin signs are being moved from a storage space at the foot of the West Pier skeleton to a new location, as preparations for the Brighton i360 get underway.
Workmen had to wear masks while they washed away layers of guano, otherwise known as pigeon faeces, which had built up after years in storage.
Once the i360 is built, some of the artefacts will go on display in a heritage centre which will form part of the attraction.
Rachel Clark, manager of the West Pier Trust, said: "We hope to rebuild some of the kiosks which are too big to go in the heritage centre but we are still searching for a new location.
"Building work on the i360 is due to start in June."
