Better Days

From the day that it opened the West Pier was immensely popular and a bustling hive of activity. Sadly in the final years of being open to the public tastes changed and it fell into decline, even though different attractions were tried in an attempt to keep the pier going as a viable business, it didn't have the drawing power to compete with the much brasher Palace Pier and subsequently was closed to the public - that is when the real decline started to set in.
